About Us Fyre Dancing
We began this new & exciting experience in May 2009, when Villager Amanda showed us how to dance with a hula hoop on fire & Villager Beka demonstrated the beauty of her fire fingers. Then Samantha made a simple fire umbrella, a couple of homemade fire fans & a fire baton. Then a date was set to get together & give it a go.
Our first gathering to Fyre Dance was on 5/16/09

Fyre Dance can be fun, empowering & spiritual
Most Loxley Abbey Fyre Dancers are beginners at various stages of development. We always start off a first tyme dancer on the Fire Umbrella as it is easy to use & the fire is further away from the dancer.
After one dance with the umbrella the dancer is then eager to try the next step up fire toy.
Every dancer always has a spotter ready with a wet towel, bucket of water & garden hose. We also have a fire extinguisher on site.
First tyme dancers are instructed on safety & procedure before beginning
If you are an experienced Fire Dancer joining us you will be required to first sign a waiver form & follow Loxley Abbey's fire rules.
Loxley Abby's goal (besides for our own pleasure) is to put together a Dance team that can perform at local events.
