Garland Dancing

A Garland Dance is a form of English folk dance accompanied by music. It is based on rhythmic stepping to the music made more picturesque by flower-covered garland arches swaying high above the dancing maidens. In days gone by, Mill owners encouraged garland dancing as a form of healthful exercise that also brought beauty to company events and town parades.
