May Fire Festival

“Welcoming Summer in!”

The evening begins with a 6:30PM MayPole Dance then

Watch the ceremony inspired from Scotland.

The May Queen wearing white Isis Wings presents herself

 as the Reborn Summer. Her 4 handmaidens dressed in the

elemental colours accompany her in dance

 with their dramatic Isis Winged arms

until the Old Horn one arrives seeking rebirth from the May Queen.

They round the stage playing cat & mouse

until the Queen finally touches him

& the Hand maidens swoop in

as he transforms into the young Stag Greenman of summer.

The King & Queen lead the procession

through the flaming tall Arch

as the symbolic crossing over into Summer.

The Bonfire is set ablaze & merriment follows.
