Come one, Come all
To the Blessing of the Plough!

Join Loxley Abbey
February 27 (Sat) starting at 2pm
For our 4rd annual Plough Day Celebration.

Bring your hand plough, garden tool or tractor
for Loxley Abbey’s Clergy to perform a Blessing.
This Old English custom begins the ploughing season
with a blessing for a bountiful harvest!
This is an opportunity to pray for the local farms & farmers. It also gives us an opportunity to call to mind all those affected by hunger & drought.

An outdoor gathering for all farmers, gardeners and their families to enjoy.
Ploughs will be lined up in advance
and a simple old style Blessing will be performed.
Farmers may decorate their ploughs with ribbons
and bells as was the custom long ago.
Even if you only have a potted herb or flower in your house, come join in this fun Blessing event with potted plant in hand. Anything you may use to plant an outside garden such as a trowel or spoon will be most welcomed.
Have the chance to discuss planting methods of all kinds with those who can share their experience.
Socialize around the Beverage & sweets table after the Blessing
A great tyme for the whole family to come out and meet other local farmers.
